The Tradition of the Wedding Cake Today your bride and groom have started on a path together that was formed by many past traditions. The Tradition of the Wedding Cake is just one of them. Actually the original wedding cake was a large loaf of bread winch the bride and groom broke and shared with their guests at their wedding feast. This loaf of bread through time has been transformed into the wedding cake of today. However the tradition still remains. According to wedding tradition the bride and groom will make three cuts into the wedding cake. The first cut is called the "Cut of Love and Happiness" and this cut they will make together. It can be made in the top layer and it will be as a remembrance when they eat it at their first anniversary. Or it can be made in the lower level and shared with their guests today. Bride and Groom make a single cut into the wedding cake. The second and third
cuts are called the "Cuts of domesticity" and are made by
the bride herself. Bride cuts a single piece from wedding cake and places it on a plate. Now according to tradition the bride must feed her husband at their wedding feast. So now the bride will break off a piece of the slice she cut and feed her husband. Also according to tradition, the size of the piece she feeds to her husband indicates the size of her love for him today. So now break off as little or as much...or as much...or as much...as you wish and feed your husband. Bride feeds her husband. One thing I forgot to tell you is that now it's the groom's turn. But your wife is delicate, dainty, petite...you don't want to smear cake all over her face. What you want to do is to break off a piece of cake that has a lot frosting on it. According to tradition, when you feed your wife you must get a lot of frosting on her lips. And the bride must leave it there for a moment of luck. Groom feeds
his wife. Couple kisses
ail the frosting off lips. |
